October

The month of October is crazy at our house.  With two birthdays, halloween costumes, and all the other ordinary parts of life, I go a little crazy.  Here are some of the ordinary parts of our life...the crazy ones are usually too crazy to capture!

Here is Declan trying to find some personal time and personal space.  That's pretty hard to come by around our house...

Here is Declan yelling at his brothers to leave him alone!

The twins love ring-around-the-rosie.

Proof again that personal space is hard to come by!

Declan went through a phase where he always took one arm out of his shirt...just because he could do it!

We live right by Balls Bluff Battlefield.  We enjoy taking the kids on little walks through the forest and occasionally blast a few cannon balls.

We found this little caterpillar along the way...reminds me of the ones growing up.

Although the twins enjoy walking...they enjoy a free ride even more.  How can I deny this face?....EASY!

Ninja Brothers

Cute Boys.

The leaves were a little past peak season, but still beautiful.

The twins are awesome on their scooters.  They have been riding since they were 12 months old and now they are quite proficient!

On a nice day I make the boys play legos outside!

Enjoying our nice backyard!

Here is Easton...the master ninja and all his master ninja moves!

The master ninja continues on the swings!

Xander loves the ipad.  He is pretty good at it too.  The second he wakes up he says, 'ipad?'

Cache loves his dinosaur puzzle.  He also loves the piece of candy he gets when he finishes it!

Chocolate chip pancakes.  The Svir breakfast of champions.

Here is Easton's first virtual playdate.  Easton is logged onto our friend's server playing Mindcraft.  On the second screen we have logged into google chat so the boys can see and hear each other.  Meanwhile, he is enjoying a nice lunch.  Seriously?!

This was an attempt at a quiet time / time out.  It was lovely for about 10 minutes!

We had a bunch of adult friends over for Halloween.  After eating we enjoyed a great old-school game of Mafia!

The ward halloween party.

This is Luke, the Incredible Hulk.  Cool costume.

My best friend from college posted a picture of her kids in their halloween costumes on their porch.  It was so cute...so naturally I wanted one.  Well, this is what I got.  One baby crying and walking off the porch, another one that won't look at the camera, Easton standing there annoyed, and Cache doing some kind of super hero move.  Oh well, maybe next year!

The twins quickly learned the joy of trick or treating and the suffering of being locked in their stroller!

Declan is trying to sneak some candy...

Easton 6th Birthday

Easton's 6th Birthday

Easton had a ninja theme to his party this year.  We invited some old friends, as well as some new ones from his Kindergarten class.   We decided to do a type of ninja training that involved getting headbands, ninja stars, and deadly ninja swords.

First, ninjas must be strong...they ran around the house a few times

Ninjas must be good listeners (we played a version of simon 'sensei' says)

Ninjas must know how to tie up a bad guy.

Ninjas must be fast and good with chopsticks.

Ninjas must be able to sense their opponents with their eyes closed.

And ninjas must enjoy cake and presents!

Cache 4th Birthday

We started off by going to the dollar store to get party supplies.  Cache got present #1...a roll of gum tape.  I think he ate the whole thing at once.

Next we made the birthday cake.  Cache was excited to help.  I realized this meant he was excited to eat all the candy while I made it!

We invited all the boys from his preschool class (and one girl!).  The kids were really great.  We had a pirate theme and made all the kids pirate hats, treasure bags (with gold coins and chocolate), and played suitable pirate activities.  We started off the night with BBQ hot dogs.

Pin the patch on the pirate.

Relay races with pirate hooks.

Digging for buried treasure.

And of course, cake and presents.

The treasure box!
