October

A moment of sanity while the twins are happy in their stroller.

It's a twin thing.

I love seeing a big couch and brothers sitting closely to each other.

After 2 years, the drywall is being painted!  Thank you government for shutting down due to your inability to make a decision.  We are enjoying having David home with a desire to work!

Xander got in a lot of trouble.  He was put in his room for a timeout...and he was very unhappy about it.  Apparently, he was also scared.  He ended up climbing inside his toy chest filled with stuffed animals, wet his pants, and fell asleep.  So much for my mother of the year nominations.

Declan finds trouble.  The kid actually seeks it out.  Here he is with the kid-proof magnetic lock trying to get into the cupboard.  I find most kid-proof things are not actually kid-proof, they just slow down the parents!

Cache made applesauce at preschool and decided he wanted to make an apple pie at home...complete with lattice.  I can't remember if he even ate a bite, but at least he had fun making it.

A strange picture...Cache with a Jack Sparrow hat/hair costume while laying on a pillow and tucked into a blanket.  He was playing some sort of pirate game with our teenage babysitters.

Halloween ghosts with cheese cloth.  Cute results...but a messy and painful process!

Marshmallow ghosts...a much better project for our family!

Cache's latest lego creation.  I love seeing the creativity.

Easton's lego creations...

We took the boys to Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania - about 3 hours away.
It's a theme park made especially for young kids and they loved it.

The boys first real roller coaster...old school wooden style.  It even rattled me a little!

I actually really enjoyed driving the bumper cars with the boys.

Xander was scared to try this little ride...

...but quickly found it to be fun.  Thanks to Easton for being a great big brother.

Cache and Declan also teamed up.

Another ride I thoroughly enjoyed.

October 17th... Happy 5th Birthday Cache!

As requested... a pirate cake.

We were very lucky to be able to have Cache's party at the park (as he requested).  We did a picture scavenger hunt, found buried treasure (that was actually buried), hit a pinata, and played pin the patch on the pirate.  What more could a kid ask for?!

October 20th... Happy 7th Birthday Easton!

I guess being the oldest of 4 boys has its' tolls...he naturally holds off his brothers while protecting his birthday candles.

We love our Costco boxes.  They get plenty of use before going out to recycling.

Poor sleepless Xander.  He is always saying how tired he is and has a tough time sleeping at night.  We have done one sleep study and had his adenoids removed.  Up next...tonsillectomy, iron supplements, and another sleep study.  Hopefully we can find a way to get this poor kid a better night sleep soon!

A pinterest discovery - homemade silly putty.
The boys love it...the mess stresses me out a bit, but overall worth the fun they have.

Easton's birthday party.  Easton is a social creature and wants to invite everyone to his party.  Naturally, I let him.  As luck would have it, everyone we invited could come...all 12 boys.  Add a few more siblings...and we had over 20 kids at our house for two hours.  Easton thought is was awesome.  I was exhausted!

We started out with hot dogs and chips.

The highly desired Minecraft cake.

The gang.

After bingo and cake and presents, we played a series of minute to win-it games.  And ended the night with dollar trophies from Amazon.

Easton's final football tournament.  Easton did a great job this season and really learned a lot.

Pumpkin carving with our friends the Macphersons.
We scored a beautiful night in late October and held the festivities in the backyard with a nice hot fire pit.

Another Pinterest idea.  Ping pong ball target game.
Quick, easy, and kept the kids entertained for a few hours...priceless.

Enjoying the loot from Grandma Annie.

Trunk-or-treating at the ward party with Declan's favorite teenager, Kensley.

Cache heading off to school.

Cache's preschool class.

Here comes the neighborhood out trick-or-treating!

Only SOME of the loot!
