May 2014

Hooray for college roommates!  My best friend from college, Mel, came to visit with her 4 boys.  Strange how we both ended up with 4 boys.  I wish we stayed in better contact, but it honestly felt like no time had elapsed (even though it has been 13 years and 4 kids later!)  The kids played great and we even ventured to the National Zoo together.

Hello.

We keep getting so lucky to see the apes cross the ropes throughout the zoo.

Hello.

Xander's puppy home.  Playing 'puppy' is the #1 activity at our house.

David saw some shish kabobs at our grocery store and suggested I buy some when I went shopping next.  I checked them out and found their $9/lb price tag to be ridiculous.  So with a few ingredients and marinade - wallah! We made our own.  So beautiful and so delicious!

We were fortunate to enjoy our annual Memorial Day trip to Virginia Beach.  We stay at an awesome Marriott right on the beach for $90.  Every year I'm afraid it will be the last year for this great deal...so we will enjoy it while we can!  This year had absolutely amazing weather - 80's...not too hot, not windy, just perfect!

The bravest of the Svir boys...Declan enjoying some body boarding.

Easton found this dead stingray.  Honestly it was the worst smelling thing I have ever had to smell.  Just the thought of it makes me disgusted...again.

The cool park at Mt. Trashmore.

Declan conquered the climbing tower first.

The boys love the hotel pool.  No sharks or unidentified objects!

Easton, Cache, and Declan chasing the waves.

Xander looking on.

If you click on this picture and make it bigger...look over my shoulder in the ocean.
I'm hoping that fin is a dolphin fin and not anything else!

Maybe we will be lucky enough to find a random photographer
that can take a straight picture next time.

April 2014

C'mon Xander, try 2 more...

maximum capacity.

Once in a while I actually take the pins from my Pinterest account and do something with them!

Scrape off the shaving cream (from the Dollar Store)...wallah!

My saddest visit to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC.  We left later than we should have (I was trying to avoid crowds)...which worked, but somehow we got there right as the sun set.  We could barely see the cherry blossoms and really nothing showed up on my lame camera.
Oh, and note to self...don't give the kids suckers before a photo shoot!

Cherry what?  Boo hoo.

Enjoying a beautiful day at Great Country Farm.

The kids are only allowed in the corn bin in the spring while the corn is still fresh.

Capturing a rare moment when both twins are sleeping.

Our friends gave us this martial arts gear.
The kids think it's awesome full-body gear for wrestling.

Hammering golf tees into Styrofoam and then balancing golf balls on them.  That lasted 5 minutes.
Then it became a game of hammering the tees into the Styrofoam so deep it was impossible to get them all out!
