September 2014

Time flies.  How does a summer pass by so quickly?  We lived at the pool, played at the farm, and ran around with neighbors.  I made a detailed schedule for our summer and pinned 100 things on Pinterest...and not once did I follow through on my plans.  And yet, we survived and had a good time.  I guess there's something to be said for that.

Easton ready for his first day of 2nd grade.

Introducing...Cache!  His first day of Kindergarten.

The whole family walked to school.  On the second day of school I sent the boys with the neighbors!

Welcome home Cache! You did it!
He just enjoyed his first bus ride (and only year to get the bus since we are sooo close to school).

Let the homework begin!

Our best friends, the Macphersons, decided to home school this year.  I pulled the boys out of school to enjoy a fun day at the Leesburg Animal Park Pumpkinville.  I have a feeling we will be missing a lot of school this year!  I did enjoy the nice quiet day.  Most of the time it was just our group at all the activities.

The gang. Katie is prego with #4...another girl...that will make us complete at 8!

August 2014

Weird.  I have 5 pictures for August.  Hopefully when I go through our cell phone pictures I can capture a little more of what happened!  I'm certain we were not this lame!

The boys enjoy making gingerbread men year-round.

Xander and Declan sporting their boxer briefs, mom's shoes, half-grown in mohawks, and showing off the beginning of our new hardwood floor project (well, David's project!).

July 2014

Happy 4th of July!  Easton enjoyed 'scooting' in the town parade with his boy scout troop.

Our first ever visit from cousins!!! We love our cousins!!! Claire, the magnificent, drove by herself with her 4 kids from Texas to Virginia.  They stayed for a little over a week.  The kids loved each other.  We tried to do a few things, but not too many.  One of our days we rented a bounce house and cotton candy machine.

Claire coined Xander's hose monopoly as the 'car wash'.

True tragedy.  Claire and I made these beautiful bags of cotton candy to save for the next day...however...they had completely dissolved the next day.  At least we captured their beauty before their swift demise.

Poor Ashlynn was sick for the first half of the trip and did not want her picture taken.
This is the only picture we have of her face for the whole trip...and such a sweet face!

You don't get the magic of the next 2 pictures without seeing them on Picasa.  When you click from one picture to the other, Cache claps his feet :)

Minecraft has taken over this generation.
This is what we refer to as a virtual playdate with a few neighbors.

Have I mentioned that we love the beach?!  We went camping this time at First Landing State Park.  By far our favorite camping site that we know of.  It is on the northern ridge of the coastline...basically a bay and the water is really calm, the beaches are natural, and there aren't very many people.  We catch crabs and you can walk out 100 yards in the ocean and it barely goes to your waist (it's still creepy being in the ocean, but shallow).

David's mom, Annie, joined us for our camping / beach adventure.  I'm sure she got more than she bargained for, but it was a good time and overall good weather (a little rain, but nothing horrible).
