January 2014

Another tradition...ready, set, go!
Eat all the gingerbread house you can in 10 minutes.
It's totally old and disgusting, but the kids love it!

One of my favorite memories of the season.  After an evening snowfall, we went out to the backyard and built snowmen together.  No neighbors, total privacy.  The snow was absolutely perfect.
We have spotlights on the back of our house, so we had enough light and just steps away from hot chocolate when we were done!

Winter hula hooping...a new Olympic sport.

Winter trampoline jumping...totally awesome until he fell off.

My attempt to get everyone to stand beside a snowman.
Sounded like a great picture...but there is always a nonconformist...or two!

This is a cold Tuesday forecast for Virginia.  9 degrees.  Brrrr.

Self-soothing

Self-entertaining

Resting oneself.

The twins' dance party.  Love these guys.

The magic of a traditional popcorn machine.

Getting ready to...

Dance again!

Xander's favorite puppy, Marcy.

Sharyn's final adieu.  Sharyn was my first roommate in Virginia!
She lived with us the last 5 months.
We are eating our last meal together, Cafe Rio!

David's attempt at manly facial hair.

Just one of Xander's amazing tricks.

A picture of me, courtesy of Xander.

The twins watching tv together.
I love how they sit so close to each other although there is a whole other couch in the room.

Declan has raided Easton's rainbow loom bracelets.

Feet painting.  It is so fun...until it's not.
Why does it always have to become a disaster!

Easton had a chance at his first science fair.  I was more excited than he was, but he was a great trooper.  David was out of town...which usually means minimize extra work.  But thanks to Google, we came up with a fun idea and rocked it! The title was, does it sink or float.  It was a lesson on density - diet sodas float and regular sodas sink.  He even took a bucket of water to school and let kids predict and drop cans of soda to test their theory.  Apparently, at the end of the day he had towels and caution signs all around his booth.  THAT is the sign of a great science project!

Here he is posing for his poster board pictures...
