June 2017

Finishing up his 4th grade school year.  I love that he did this project by himself (ok...I seriously helped a tiny bit!).  In years past, although I work on projects with the kids, I feel like it's a joint effort.  Maybe school projects shouldn't begin until 4th grade!

Easton, my big reader and writer, was awarded the Future Author award from his class.

The last day of 2nd grade couldn't come soon enough for Cache!

Although he might not admit it, Easton will miss the 4th grade!

The twins rocked their Kindergarten year.  Every year of school should only be 3 hours long and full of music and fun!

Easton had the great idea of burning all his school work.  Maybe this will cut down on the cost of his therapy in future years!

I coached Easton's soccer team this year.  I tried hard.  They tried hard.  For the most part we kind of stunk, but it was fun.  Soccer is a great sport for kids.

Ok, back to our farm (Temple Hall).  It was so beautiful last time, we had to go again.
I'm wondering if there was something in this grass I was photographing or if it was an accident?

Oreo cookie cows and goats.

I forget what this is called, but I love it!  I call it the albino peacock.
It was absolutely amazing.  The huge span of feathers was easily 6 ft across.
It was very memorizing!

My kids love these big-eyed animals.  And of course, now they make them even smaller.
Dang those consumer marketers!

Declan was the big winner of a trip to Minnesota with his dad this year for his great grandma's birthday party.  Of course, as the only grandkid their, he got completely spoiled.  No trip to Minnesota is complete without a trip to the Mall of America where he scored this giant lego set from the Lego Store.  Better yet, he even put it together ALL by himself!

My two new best friends...I hate drinking plain water and I always need a little energy boost! Thank you Everly for meeting all my needs!

I teach Cache's primary class.  Yep, this is about how it goes every week!

Time for our pilgrimage to Texas!  This year we had the awesome idea to take a slight detour and hit the Crater of Diamonds State Park.  The only diamond mine that allows the public to dig and keep the diamonds they find! Yes, we paid immensely for this honor, and yes it was completely over-rated.
As we walked it to a giant field of dirt, all of our jaws dropped in despair.  My boys are die-hard treasure finders.  I mean the best of the best.  The most patient and attention-detailed boys out there.  I basically had to threaten their lives to spend 2 hours in this torture chamber!  Check that one off the list! Now we know! I think we will stick to shark teeth and shell hunting!

Easton entertaining us at a pit stop

Pretty pictures I took while driving.  Totally safe, right?

We made it to Texas!  We love our cousin's house.  Totally crowded and painful, but still totally worth it.  They live within 5 minutes to this awesome park.  There are two things Texas does well - Malls and Parks.

While we were visiting, we helped them pack up and move 2 doors down!
They didn't seem to mind that one of the only things to do during the hot parts of the day were their ipads.

Another fun Texas park.  This one also has a splash pad.
We met up with my favorite friends, the Airmets, and enjoyed some playtime together like the good old days.

The boys discovered these crazy sticky briars in the Texas grass.  I pulled all of these off one kid!

We took an adventure to the skate house and it was awesome.  Like everything in Texas, it was huge!
The kids had a great time skating and Lindsey even won the dance competition!

Enjoying the lake that is right next to the zip line park.  You can see the little blue kayak in the back of the photo - we bought 2 of those at Costco while we were there and the kids loved paddling around the calm waters.  While Easton and Declan awaited their turn, Easton decided to decorate Declan's head with sand.  Ahhh, more brotherly love!
