Yep, this is what I found in my bed this morning. My 11, 9, and 7 year old ALL IN MY BED!
Funny how neither David or I are in it! David already got up for the day and I went to a kids bed.
I was a skeptic at first, but I must say I love this place! We have an Atomic Trampoline near us and on Wednesday it is 1/2 price, which barely makes it affordable. Worth it, but barely affordable!
I love how all the parent are sitting on the sidelines, forking over money for their kids to jump off their energy for an hour, while they just sit there!
Happy 11th Birthday Easton!
For the second year in a row, we have celebrated Easton and Cache's birthdays on October 10th, the Columbus Day off school. It's a Monday, has traditionally been good weather, and most of the kids are around (more so than on a sports-busy Saturday).
First on Easton's party list...Bobbing for apples. I laugh at how disgusting this is and how clean our society has become. To my knowledge, no one got sick or died from this germ pool!
I love how Natalie, the one girl at the party, was the first person to 'Go For It' and put her whole body in and pin the apple to the bottom of the bucket. Classic!
I suppose this is a technique too...
Next up...dodgeball and capture the flag.
Sure, all you wet, sweaty boys are now welcome to come into the kitchen and eat pizza!
That about sums it up.
We love our Barbie Doll Cakes. Thanks to the Pampered Chef glass bowl thing, we popped out a couple chocolate cakes filled with layers of (cookies & cream on one) and (mint chocolate chip) in the other.
Cache opted for the doughnut cake. Yep, this is my new personal favorite.
Now presenting the second group of boys to hang out today!
This October I finally got to take over Lego Club. It's awesome! Everything is awesome...right?!
Well, Lego Club is actually a bit painful. First of all, out of the 20 kids - 18 of them are boys. In addition, I get them right after school gets out which means they are full of energy and each one wants my personal attention. They are actually pretty cute though and we have lots of fun themes planned for this 6 week class.
Because we believe that one birthday celebration is never enough, we took the boys to Westmoreland State Park as well. We call this place 'shark tooth beach' and it is on the Chesapeake Bay which feeds into the Atlantic Ocean. It's about a 3 hour drive from our house and we decided to make it a long day trip. We borrowed our friend's canoe and took our two little kayaks. David and Easton put in around the cliffs at the boat launch, while the twins, Cache and I hiked down the path to meet them near a few miles away.
Not a ton of pictures because this was quite the hands on trip. It was a bit scary since no one knew where we were, we really had no back up plan, and it turns out we were quite lucky the weather was so pleasant because paddling 6 people in a canoe was quite the chore (yep, all the kids eventually chickened out of the kayaks and ended up in the canoe).
Did I mention we went to all the non-trespassing cliffs that are only accessible by boat? It was pretty cool as we hopped from one little spot of sand to the next find some pretty amazing teeth. It really was a cool trip...luckily! Did I mention that sharks have been seen in this water? Yeah, I didn't know that until the kids were freaking out in the kayak and I assured them there were no sharks (but realized my error when I went home and looked it up!)
Proof of life! We survived! Looking back down at the water as David and Easton (ok, mainly David) have to canoe back to the landing.
Here is Lindsee Tikalsky. She's been highlighted on our blog before because we love this baby! I got some 1 on 1 time with her this afternoon and we hung outside on the blanket. She was so cute and did a great job at my photo shoot!
Yep, still doing lego club! This week...create a structure that survives 'the drop'.
Happy Halloween!
We scored some perfect weather for Halloween this year.
This is who we ended up with...tie die man, green ninja, hoodie guy with dinosaur hat, and Darth Vader. I've serious let go of my halloween expectations and have accepted an 'anything works' mentality.
Our friend, Thamina, came with us and David had on his favorite hair.
We always enjoy trick or treating with our friends, the Macphersons.
Here are Sarah and Xander.
And Cache and Jacob.
(Easton and David were still out trick-or-treating)
Lego Club challenge...build a bridge to get the lego people to school!
(and when you are done with that, build something that can fly)
Cache's last game of the season. Here are the fans cheering from the sidelines...
ok, here is Easton and Lindsee and I don't think either paid any attention!
I was trying to get some good action shots of Cache for his coach...
Cache got the 'most fun player' award.
