We found the cutest little squirrel on the driveway. He wasn't scared of us, in fact, he kept following us around. We made him a little home in the backyard complete with a warm rice bag for the night and set out nuts. He stayed back there a few nights before mysteriously disappearing. We hope he wandered into the woods and is still alive. May 'Mini Cooper' live a long life!
I had the great idea of taking the kids to Gettysburg on a beautiful fall day. Gettysburg is only an hour north of us. HOWEVER, this fall day happened to be miserably humid and hot! After a few hours of biking up torturous hills in the heat, we called it quits. The scenery was beautiful, but I will have to wait for a true fall day to try this again!
This is what a 'quick' bike trip looks like before we load up!
#whydidwehave4kids?!
A much better biking experience was at Burke Lake...about a 35 min drive south from us.
There is a 4.5 mile loop around the lake. The trail is hard packed dirt and there isn't extreme ups and downs...just a perfect amount!
The remains of one of the kids' lunches from school. Really?
I guess I should be glad they haven't figured out to throw it away at school and hide it!
I volunteered to help with Easton's middle school beginning of the year party. I was in charge of the photo booth. I made this cute backdrop and bought a bunch of props at the dollar store. The sad thing was it wasn't used very much. Ugh. The things we do!
Cache is really into sport cars. As we drive around our city, we point out all the amazing cars. Naturally, while he is at school, I am still noticing all the nice cars and I feel like I have to take pictures to show him later!
The newly installed hammock on our front porch!
